Professional Development

  • Ongoing professional development and education is critical for CHWs, no matter where you work. The CHW Association of Delaware strives to provide accessible and diverse opportunities for all CHWs to continue to increase their knowledge to work effectively within their communities.
  • Monthly training is provided in partnership with the association and various community partners that aim to meet the needs of CHWs in all roles. You may attend professional development opportunities as a member, or offer to share your wealth of knowledge with other CHWs and allies.
  • CHWs require an array of skills that include, but aren’t limited to, communication, cultural competence, interpersonal skills, documentation skills and literacy, motivational interviewing and facilitation, reasoning and problem solving, time management, community knowledge, and more.
