Delaware's Inaugural CHW Summit Makes History in 2022
The Community Health Worker profession in Delaware reached a significant milestone in 2022 with its first-ever annual summit, bringing together CHWs from across the state in a virtual format. This groundbreaking event honored Delaware Champions while providing essential knowledge-sharing opportunities through featured guest speakers.
Participants engaged in focused breakout sessions addressing key priorities including advocacy initiatives and expanded resources and training opportunities. The virtual format allowed for inclusive participation while maintaining meaningful connections among these vital healthcare liaisons.
A highlight of the summit was the recognition of outstanding CHWs nominated for the CHW Champion award, including Mignaliz “Nanny” Vega-Morales, Adriana Viveros-Sosa, Lisbeth Rojas, Carol Green-Archie, and Rona Harris. The 2022 CHW Champion, Tisha Mae Jackson, was celebrated for her exceptional contributions to community health in Delaware.
This inaugural summit laid the foundation for what has now become an essential annual tradition of professional development and recognition for Delaware’s community health workforce.
