Monique Mcmillian is a Delaware native and Certified Community Health Worker who now resides in Cecil County, MD. She serves as Co-Chair of Social media & Communications for the association and is a dedicated CHW at ChristianaCare, where she plays a key role in supporting patients and families through care coordination, resource navigation, health education, and advocacy. Her work centers on helping individuals overcome barriers and stay connected to the services that support their well-being.
Monique’s career is grounded in more than a decade of hands-on experience, beginning as a caregiver for individuals with developmental disabilities in Cecil County, MD and in 2018 becoming a formally trained CHW through the University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake health system. This early work shaped her commitment to person-centered support, dignity, and equity. Her CHW practice reflects that foundation, with strengths in benefits navigation, chronic disease support, and building trusted relationships with diverse communities.
In addition to her work at ChristianaCare, Monique is the founder of In the Gap Care, a mobile senior support initiative that provides non-clinical wellness check-ins, companionship, and practical assistance. Across all her roles, she is dedicated to meeting people where they are and ensuring every individual feels seen, supported, and empowered.
